QUETTA – Heavy rain coupled with hailstorm lashed major parts of Balochistan including Quetta valley on Friday which turned weather very cold.
According to Met office, Balochistan’s districts including Kalat, Mastung, Sibi, Nasirabad, Chaghi, Turbat, Gawdar, Awaran, Washuk, Khuzdar, Pishin, Qilla Abdullah & Saifullah, Harnai, Ziarat, Barkhan, Zhob, Sherani, Musakhel, Loralai, Kholu, Dera Bugti, Bolan, Nasirabad, Jhal Magsi, Quetta and Jaffrabad districts received heavy rains.
According to report, several mud houses were damaged due to rain in Dalbandin area of Chaghi district. The rain and filthy water accumulated on roads in Quetta city including Double Raod, Imadad Road, Jinnah Road, Prince Road and other road causing difficulties for pedestrians while vehicles were stuck on the road.
In some areas, electricity supply was suspended in rain. Some residents of Quetta moved to different parks of the capital to enjoy the rainy weather. However, the rain on fourth consecutive day, created delight among farmers and growers in the province.
Balochistan Chief Minister Nawab Sanaullah Zehri directed authorities concerned to take immediate measures for cleanliness and draining out the rainwater. The Met office has predicted more rain and cloudy weather during 24 hours in different districts of Balochistan.
