LAHORE A fire broke out today in the basement of a plaza in New Anarkali, harming over 10 shops so far.
According to the rescue sources, the fire spread from the basement to the third floor of the plaza.
The cause of the fire is said to be a short circuit which happened early in the morning.
Eight rescue vehicles reached the sit upon hearing of the fire but even after several hours the fire could not be controlled.
The shopkeepers and the rescue team got into a fight as the shopkeepers got agitated when the fire could not be controlled.
The shopkeepers complained that the fire brigade staff did not have the complete equipment, including an oxygen cylinder, to control the fire. However, the rescue teams claim they were trying to do the best in their capacity.
