DADU: The police and Auqaf department Sindh has closed an entrance point among four gates, Old Alam Pak Gate of Hazrat Qalandar Lal Shahbaz Shrine for security reasons.
Security in-charge of Shrine police Sub-Inspector Aslam Aghari said that among four gates of shrine, an Old Alam Pak Gate would be remained closed during Muharram mourning processions and religious gatherings near Shrine courtyard.
However, he informed that Golden Gate, Old Gate and Shrine Centre inside Gate would be remained open under tight security. He said that more than 300 police personnel and 22 lady commandos have been deployed along with 30 Ranger personnel.
Visiting devotees from Sindh and Punjab areas expressed their concerns, saying that they were facing a great ordeal due to closure of the Old Alam Pak Gate. They said that visiting the Shrine during Muharram, they have to wait for long time during checking through narrow gates. They demanded Sindh Chief Minister to direct administration for reopening Old Alam Pak Gate for them with tight security measures.
