KALA SHAH KAKU: At least four people died and several others injured in a multiple-vehicle collision on Grand Trunk (GT) Road on Sunday.
Police said that a car, rickshaw and a mini-van collided with a container parked by the roadside in Kala Shah Kaku area. The cause of the accident was attributed to over-speeding.
Four people, including two women, a teenage boy and a child, died in the accident.
The bodies and the injured were shifted to a hospital for medico-legal formalities. Police impounded all vehicles and started investigation after registering a case. Separately, six people of a family died when their car fell into a gorge in Galiyat on Sunday. Police said that a speeding car careened off the road and plunged into a deep ravine in Bingara area of Galiyat.
Four children died on the spot in the accident while two others were seriously injured. The injured were pulled out from the gorge and shifted to a hospital where they also succumbed to their wounds raising death toll to six.
