KARACHI: Officials of the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) on Monday arrested the former Sindh information minister Sharjeel Memon after he left the court premises.
The arrest came after the Sindh High Court (SHC) rejected his bail plea in a corruption case pertaining to the award of advertisements at ‘exorbitant rates’ through the abuse of his power.
The accountability bureau also nabbed other 12 accused in the case. Memon is expected to be produced before an accountability court on Tuesday.
The former information minister was shifted to NAB headquarters Sindh after being escorted from the court.
Memon was attempting to avoid being arrested by NAB after the cancellation of his bail extension plea by the Sindh High court.
